Summer School – Introduction to jewellery making
Overview
- A three day course developing the essential foundation skills required to design and make your own jewellery. Only limited spaces are available on this three day course, beginning on Friday 11th – 13th July ,from 10am until 4pm.
- Bring a packed lunch, refreshments are available throughout the session (tea, coffee, herbal teas and biscuits).
- Bookings can only be accepted via the website.
- Classes run at the BENCHspace studio on the Shipyard Estate in Brightlingsea on 1st floor (sorry no disabled access).
- This is an excellent starting point to learn or refresh the fundamental making skills required to make your own work in metal.
This course is based on the acquisition of skills and is not outcome based like the taster sessions i.e. we do not aim to make a finished piece of jewellery each session, although you will finish a small collection of pieces (dependant on the individual) by the end of the course.
Each session, is designed to give you maximum hands-on practical time in the workshop, getting used to selecting, holding, and using the tools efficiently.
A handbook with information for the course, list of essential tools and equipment along with a list of trusted suppliers will be provided.  Silver costs will be in addition to the course fee. We estimate a starting price of £45.00 for materials for the 3 day course.
