Taster Sessions, Courses and More

For those of you who wish to learn the foundation skills needed to design and make your own jewellery, I offer a range of taster sessions and courses to build up your skill set from absolute beginner to develop your own unique style.

Silver Saturdays and Sundays Taster Sessions

for ages 16+

I offer one-off taster sessions for absolute beginners to make a unique silver ring or bangle.  There are a wide variety of choices of ring types including stacking, spinner, hammered and patterned wire rings, as well as a variety of different types of bangle to make. You could even come six times and make a different piece of jewellery each time!

Come and make a personalised and unique piece of silver jewellery to wear home straight away or to give as a special gift. My small classes mean everyone has the support they need to make their own jewellery to a professional finish, using traditional hand tools to hammer, cut, solder (using gas torches), file and polish. Come by yourself if you have always fancied having a go at something different or persuade a friend or two to try it with you!

Silver Saturdays and Sundays are the perfect activity for groups of friends or family coming together to mark a special birthday or special occasion: An unusual and fun alternative for a hen-do, bridal party, Mother’s Day, family get-together, 50th Birthday, silver anniversary, or just for something different to do together or for yourself on a weekend morning.

Patterned Silver Rings

Sterling Silver Bangles

Explore the process of making a cuff bangle, and wear something truly unique, reflecting your personal style.

Spinner or Stacking Rings

Spinner or Stacking rings are a great accompaniment to anyone’s jewellery collection. Come & indulge.

6 Week Courses

The courses are structured as practical ‘hands on’ sessions. The essential skills are demonstrated each week by your tutor with plenty of time given to practice your skills.  On each course, the technical information is provided session by session in a course handbook, yours to keep so that you can refer back to information as a guide when working independently.

The workshop is a fully equipped studio, packed with professional tools for you to use including rolling mills, barrel polisher, lathe polisher, gas fired torches and a full set of hand tools each to use whilst at the bench.

These courses are designed to take you from being an absolute beginner right through to becoming a competent and adventurous designer jeweller, with the added bonus of being part of the BENCHspace Collective to promote and sell your work together.
